Are You an April Fool? Take My Test

Think you managed to successfully manouevre around all of the ridiculous April fools stories on the web? Well here are some of my favourite links from this week. Can you spot which are fake and which are April Fools??

Avoid Sausage Fest Parties!
If you have ever accepted an invite to a party organized on Facebook, only to be disappointed when the crowd tends to be a little too skewed towards the beer swilling, hairy gender then this is the Facebook app for you!

Sausage Fest will let you know the percentage of men attendees vs women of any event listed on Facebook. Simply enter the URL of the event on Facebook and it will give you a visual rating of sausages to let you know how outnumber the fairer sex will be.

Usefulness? Well, I suppose this is great if you are either a) single and looking for events where your chances of finding a pretty girl to chat up and high or b) tired of going to parties where you can’t move without bumping into some guy trying to chat you up!

IPad Arcade Cabinet

Whenever technology advances, geeky nostalgia inevitably increases.  While we all wait with baited breath for the iPad, some clever developers have leapt to find a way to bring old and new tech together.  Enter the iCade… a docking station which allows you to play retro video games in retro video game style!

With the app installed, the iPad slides into the arcade machine styled casing and lets you enjoy games such as Pacman and Asteroids using (albeit smaller) versions of the authentic joystick/buttons combo controls that they were originally played with.

I have to say I am tempted to get an iPad just for this!

Pac Man Moon

Remarkable images have appeared online this week showing a flourescent yellow shading across one of Saturn’s moons that resembles a well loved cartoon gaming character from the 80′s.

The image   highlights extreme temperature zones as identified by NASA’s infrared spectrometer.   The hottest zone of the moon is shown in yellow, looking like Pac Man.

What makes the resemblance even more humorous is that Pac Man appears to be about to munch on the moon’s Herschel Crater much as he would ravenously swallow those little white dots of… (what were they anyway?  Pellet food?)

So which stories are real and which will make a fool of you?  Sausage Fest, iPad Arcade or Pac Man Moon?

OK, so you can probably spot which are genuine with a quick search on Google, but where is the fun in that? Don’t cheat! Leave a comment with your answers, or tweet me @angelanealmedia

(I’ll share the links properly to the stories later.  Just don’t want to give the game away just yet!)
