My job is pretty exciting these days, and what’s more, it’s nice that technology and tools are finally catching up with me and providing me with some really useful ways to manage my workflow. Facebook Insights are now working much better, SocialOomph is now packed with some great features for automating and managing social media accounts (I’ll have a tutorial on this great tool coming soon) and Google have just announced their new ‘Priority Inbox’ which should partially separate the wheat from the chaf in my swollen inbox each day. So when it comes to new tools are you quick to jump on the bandwagon or do you bide your time until a product is tried and tested?
Early Adopters
You tend to be creative, innovative and willing to take a risk to get ahead of the game. You are first in line to try out new software, tools and technology with the hope that it will make your work life faster, richer and more profitable. You are willing to try out anything new just in case it is the “next big thing”. Make sure you don’t invest too much time or money on experimenting with gadgets and software though – keeping your finger firmly on the pulse may mean that you are missing a finger when it comes to handling the important day to day running of your business.
Reluctant Accepters
You don’t like change, and will avoid fads until the “next big thing” is proven. You avoid the frustrations of 1st gen bugs and glicks, and skip straight to stable releases. Just watch out that you don’t get too far behind the times or your competitors will quickly overtake you and customers may associate your brand with being “old fashioned” or stale.
Which type are you?
