People often view my life as glamourous. When I say “people” I mean 9-5 desk workers whose eyes glass over within 5 minutes of entering their office, and who spend their day carrying out tasks that they neither care about nor enjoy, but are obliged to complete in exchange for a paycheck at the end of the month. I’m not looking forward to tomorrow. Or the next day. Or the day after that. I am taking up the Lifehack Challenge to become an early riser in 5 days. Instead of tumbling out of bed between 9 and 10 as I do most days, I will be trying to be up at about by 7am.

My answer, dear people, is yes. Not just because we are now all so wired into each other’s minute social movements via texts, tweets and status updates, but because we have always done business with people who we like, and trust.
Whether it makes strict business sense or not, if you take proposals from two people and one of them happens to mention that they are also a fan of your favourite sports team, or tells a joke that makes you laugh, or shares a personal experience that you can relate …

I have been struggling to juggle multiple projects over the past few weeks. I have new clients, new services, new writing contracts, and several projects that needed the dust blown off and tinkered with to be brought up to date.
The trouble is that I am, quite frankly, rubbish at multi-tasking. I was relieved to hear someone else admit this the other day in an interview, and it inspired me to stand up, raise my hand and ‘fess up. “My name is Angela, and I am a rubbish multi-tasker.”
