It’s said that it is easy to tell a native New Yorker from a tourist, and that the two groups don’t mix, but what if the Department of Transportation was to start enforcing an orderly separation of natives and visitors?  This fabulous stunt was pulled off by the genius Improv Everywhere group as part of the Social Media Summit and let to the follow hilarity.

People often view my life as glamourous.  When I say “people” I mean 9-5 desk workers whose eyes glass over within 5 minutes of entering their office, and who spend their day carrying out tasks that they neither care about nor enjoy, but are obliged to complete in exchange for a paycheck at the end of the month.  People who dream about starting their own business, following a dream, breaking free of the shackles of the rat race, yet never quite seem to go through with it.

I hate forwards as much as the next online warrior battling through their overwhelming inbox each day, but every once in a while someone sends me one that appeals to the geek in me. Sadly, few of my friends other than the one who originally sent it to me would appreciate the humour, so I have decided to start archiving them here in the hopes of passing round a giggle and forehead slap or two.

The online community was shocked this week when the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, was hacked by a group calling themselves the Iranian Cyber Army.  Early visitors after the attack saw a graphic of the Iranian flag super imposed with Arabic writing, along with a strangely polite message in English, before Twitter suspended all services.
